In my criteria I identify an interesting back story as
critical for a great AHOGP. The back story should
follow the guidelines for a good short story.
Since you have the visual ability of a computer
then pictures can aid in the telling of the story like
a good graphic novel.
Animation is also available through computers, so
you even have the luxury of a short movie which
should lend itself well to having a really interesting
back story.
Finally you get to have interactivity with a computer
which should lend itself to a really great back story.
With all of these elements, suddenly you have an
abundance of riches that may even hamper having
a really great back story, so it really begins with
having just a story in the first place that is worth
telling.
A Really Good Back Story
It was a dark and stormy
night as Bartholomew
Halstead approached the
office building. He pulled up
the collar of his overcoat as
he shivered in the night air.
He could see Jonathan
Babbot waiting for him in the
dimly lit door way of the
office building.
“You’re late,” Jonathan
said.
“I had trouble tying my
tennis shoes,” replied Booh.
Rich Graphics
The graphics should be pleasing in depth
and and quality. You are competing with
some pretty awesome artists out there and
mundane does not cut it.
Here I have some concept artwork, which I
have created. I am not sure they count as
the final deliverable but simply as
beginning Artwork.

The music and sound presented here are in public domain, but they
are not available from this site, though they can be downloaded from a
number of sites that provide them for free.

Booh and Babbot are childhood friends. As adults in the late 1930's, they work a number of odd jobs
that take them outside the realm of the normal into a world often fraught with the unexplainable.
When their adventures end they find themselves back into the everyday. This sometimes bumbling
duo seem to always find the correct solution to every problem
In "The Haunted House of Dracula", Booh and Babbot start out as "Gentlemen Cleaners". This is the
brainchild of Babbot, the smoother of the two, who thought they could build a classier clientèle if the
passed themselves off as office maintenance and cleaning while attired in business suits.
The story begins when our heroes arrive at a big high-powered detective agency that has hired them
to clean their offices. It is a dark and stormy night, the offices are deserted, and our two guys start
cleaning the office.
Booh dreams of being a Private Investigator, while the usually pragmatic Babbot tries to keep them
focused on cleaning the office. During this process Booh and Babbot come upon a number of things,
a book on how to be a PI, card stock for creating business cards and a printing press in a storage
closet. There, Booh prints up business cards for them.
Once the office is clean the duo are prepared to leave when a beautiful femme Fatale enters the office
looking for help. Booh shows her the cards that he printed up and says he and Babbot are PI's.
Her story is she needs someone to accompany her to her uncle's mansion. He has recently died and
he has left it to her. She is frightened because she has been followed and there have been threats.
She bats her eyes at Booh and he is ready to agree to help, but Babbot is reluctant until he hears that
there is a hidden fortune involved which she is willing to share for their fee. Babbot is on board and
ready to go… Oh one last thing… the mansion is haunted.
The boys arrive on the street where the mansion and find themselves locked out. While figuring out
how to get through the gated fence they come across pieces of information and some odd trinkets
they pick up.
On the porch they knock and find some more stuff. When there is no answer they consider leaving
when they hear a scream from inside. They desperately search for and find a key, but when they use
it the floor of the porch gives way and they fall into the basement...
