Website made using only Xara Web Designer, and no other graphics or software tools. Need a Web Site?   My Web Skills. . . Web Site Building and Maintenance When I build a Web site from scratch, I use Xara Web Designer because I am lazy and I am not interested in re-inventing the wheel.  Xara also lets me code HTML, JavaScript, and PHP by hand and easily integrate into the site build.  When I hand code I use an editor called arachnophilia.  Achronophilia allows me to edit multiple pages at a time, allows for searching and global replacement of test, and it has a macro generator that lets me create boiler plate code that I can easily propagate across pages. I use several tools for graphics.  The include PaintShopPro, a less expensive Photoshop replacement, PaintShopPro gif animator, and iclone for 3D development.  I use iClone and Comic Book Creator to create “The Shrub Chrinicles” which I wrote and published. Here is a list of sites I have built or maintained.  This one, Soleil’s African Cuisine, Discount Shopping Bags, and Jewels by Jade which is in development. SEO and PPC Analytics I have performed analysis on Web sites and implemented those features that are needed for pratical search engine placement of those Websites.  Discount Shopping Bags and Arrow Paper are the earliest Web Sites for my execution of my SEO skills.  I have worked mostly with Google and Yahoo search engines, and most of my work propagates through Other search engines. If you use the following search engine terms “colored merchandise shopping bags” in Google and Yahoo.  You will see in Google that Arrow Paper and Discount Shopping Bags are at the top of the first page, that was the focus for the owners, and that both sites are on the first page of Yahoo which was the second focus for the owners. For Discount Shopping Bags I worked on a PPC program in Google to provide them the best return for PPC dollars using Google Analytics.  Discount Shopping Bags does not use PPC much anymore as SEO has been successful enough to put Discount Shopping Bags on the first  page of most searches using their primary search terms. My Rates and Availability I live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Most of the time I work from home, though I do meet with clients outside my home office.  On occasion I do work at a clients location but travel does increase my hourly rate. I will build a static Website up to 20 pages for $400, see Soliels African Cuisine and Jewels by Jade.  I use Xara Web Designer as my primary development engine.  For sites that I build I maintain them for $15.00 an hour in minimum increments of 1 hour.  I do not host nor do I handle domain setups.  Web Maintenance for sites that I have not created I charge $25.00 an hour, the first job is a minimum 2 hour contract.  This is if I work at home.  At a clients site I charge $35.00 an hour, minimum 4 hours a day, maximum of 6 hours a day unless extended days are arranged for in advance, this is to cover the cost of travel in down time.
